After a race at Spa that was a bit of a disappointment, followed by a Verstappen-glory tour at home base Zandvoort, the teams and drivers are now ready for the conclusion of this eventful triple header at the Italian circuit Monza. This is made even more special by the fact that the historic circuit is also the chosen venue for the second sprint race of the season.

After an initial try-out at Silverstone this year, the experimental sprint format will be continued at Monza this weekend. Prior to the actual race on Sunday the drivers will first cover around one hundred kilometres without pit stops and with free choice of tyres.

Starting from third position, Max Verstappen will have to outwit the two Mercedes cars during the sprint. The defending champion has been strong since the beginning of the weekend, with a higher top speed on the straights.

Where and when

After the last free practice of the weekend, which will start at 11, the lights will go out for the sprint race at 15:30. The race can be followed on the usual channels, but here on Gpblog you will also find a live report of the sprint race.
