Aston Martin is appealing for the disqualification that Sebastian Vettel received after the Hungarian Grand Prix. Where the FIA claimed that the driver only had 0.3 litres of fuel in his tank, the team claims that this was at least 1.0 litres. The case will start on August 9, the FIA writes.

The case will begin at 15:00 this coming Monday. At that time, the GP stewards will be given the chance to tell their story, while Aston Martin will be given the opportunity to present its new evidence. If the original decision is upheld, the appeal process will begin.

GP of Hungary

Vettel drove an excellent race in Hungary by taking second place. The German was lucky that an accident at the start forced several drivers to retire, while Max Verstappen drove around with a damaged car. Vettel was unable to get past Esteban Ocon and ended up in second place.

Afterwards, however, it turned out that there was too little fuel in Vettel's car, which Aston Martin clearly contradicted. The team was then given the opportunity to appeal for the incident. It remains to be seen what the outcome will be.
