Looking back at the Monaco Grand Prix, Formula One journalist Tom Clarkson is convinced Red Bull Racing have returned to glory. His performance on the street circuit gave him a glimpse of the team that was stringing together championships almost a decade ago.

"A faultless day by Red Bull. They had to capitalise on Mercedes misfortune and they did it", Clarkson begins his analysis on the F1 Nation podcast. He does so in conversation with Damon Hill and Natalie Pinkham.

Clarkson continued: "What I loved about Red Bull this weekend is that I felt we saw the old racing team back. There were a few people wondering if they were a bit rusty, how many of the people were still at the team, who’ve got the experience of winning championships."

A real racing team

Despite not getting the best start on the street circuit, the team managed to recover perfectly, according to Clarkson: "I thought they were absolutely pinsharp all weekend in Monaco, they were struggling on Thursday, they made the right changes, came back on Saturday absolutely brilliant."

This form of Red Bull, reminiscent of the team's glory days, will therefore undoubtedly be a headache for the people in Mercedes' headquarters, believes Clarkson: "It was the old Red Bull and I’m excited by that. I would imagine there’s a little bit of fear in Brackley right now, that team is a proper racing team again."
