Mick Schumacher was not very convincing during the race weekend in Portugal. In Bahrain and Imola he struggled, but in Portimao he finished in penultimate place. However, the driver remains positive for Sunday's race.

"It was difficult circumstances," the German told the cameras after his P19. Sky. He admitted: "I was actually hoping that with the second set we would get a bit closer. With the first set we were 16th, which looked very good. That was also our hope. But unfortunately, in the second set, we fell behind. With the second push, I was able to improve a little bit in the first and second sectors."

At the end, however, things went wrong. "In third I unfortunately lost everything because the tyre was out at the time, but I got a bit of wind from behind. That put me in such a spin that I just couldn't keep the lap time. But again, learned a lot and really enjoyed driving the car. Now I'm looking forward to tomorrow," the rookie said.

Schumacher debut season

Schumacher is in his first season at the highest level of motorsport. On his debut, the driver finished last. Three weeks later in Imola, he only held off his teammate Nikita Mazepin.
