Damon Hill is hoping Sebastian Vettel manages to recover after a difficult end at Ferrari. The four-time world champion was told before the 2020 season started that he would be replaced by Carlos Sainz. That moment was the beginning of the end for Vettel. Next season should be very different for the German.

"Ferrari has destabilized Sebastian Vettel", Hill said in a broadcast of Sky Sports. The former Formula 1 driver thinks you can be critical on the level of performance of Vettel, but especially his former Italian employer gets a beating.

Confidence of Vettel

Hill continues:"I think Sebastian still has a lot of potential and if he gets the chance to win or get on the podium, I'm sure he'll do his best. I hope he's had the chance to get his confidence back. Sometimes I look at him and I feel like he doesn't seem very motivated or confident, and that's worrying."

At Aston Martin, Vettel will be given the chance next season to get back on his feet. Together with teammate Lance Stroll, he will attempt to finish in the top-three in the Constructors' Championship. Last year the Racing Point didn't succeed. Thanks to the last Grand Prix it was McLaren who took the coveted third place.
