From Niki Lauda's first F1 World Championship victory in 1975, to Fernando Alonso's triumph in 2005 with Renault, five classic liveries from the world of Formula 1 have been revitalised by LeaseFetcher. The car leasing comparison website commissioned renders to help envisage how five classic F1 liveries would look on some of our favourite road-legal vehicles.

Reimagined

LeaseFetcher, a car leasing comparison website, have taken some of the most memorable F1 liveries and place them on modern road cars. Take a look below (or in our gallery) and let us know your personal favourite in the comments section.

1975 Niki Lauda

This livery is from the Ferrari 312T which first competed in the 1975 F1 World Championship. The car was driven by Clay Regazzoni and Niki Lauda, who claimed his first F1 World Championship. The livery has been placed on the Ferrari SF90 Stradale (2020). This classic F1 livery has been revitalised by LeaseFetcher. 45 years later, we’d like to think the Ferrari SF90 Stradale would carry the memory of the fantastic 312T.

1988 Ayrton Senna

Ayrton Senna won his first F1 World Championship in a McLaren wearing this livery. The McLaren MP4/4 was driven by Senna and Alain Prost during the 1988 F1 season. It was perhaps the most dominant season by a constructor ever as the car won 15 out of the 16 races. The only race it didn't win was the Italian Grand Prix despite Senna and Prost starting on the front row. Senna led the race until a collision with three laps remaining. The livery has been placed on the Honda NSX (2020). This classic F1 livery has been revitalised by LeaseFetcher.

1994 Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher is well known for racing (and winning) in Ferrari red, but he won his first F1 World Championship in this Benetton livery. The Benetton B194 powered by Ford-Cosworth was driven by four different drivers. Jos Verstappen first partnered Schumacher before JJ Lehto took over for the San Marino Grand Prix. Those two drivers continued to exchange seats during the season before Johnny Herbert took over for the final two races. Schumacher won five of the first six races. The livery has been placed on the Ford GT (2020). This classic F1 livery has been revitalised by LeaseFetcher. We think this livery looks pretty damn good on the modern-day Ford GT.

1999 Mika Häkkinen

Mika Häkkinen won his second F1 World Championship in the McLaren MP4/14 which raced in this livery. Häkkinen won five races in this car whilst teammate David Coulthard won two. Perhaps more impressively, Häkkinen collected 11 of the 16 pole positions. This livery has been placed on the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe (2020). This classic F1 livery has been revitalised by LeaseFetcher. Although the MP4/14 had its challenges, we think it is one of the best-looking cars on the grid, and the livery looks great on the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe.

2005 Fernando Alonso

From one of Michael Schumacher's rivals to another, Fernando Alonso ended Ferrari's run of titles in 2005. His Renault competed with this livery which is perhaps one of the most popular and well-remembered liveries of all time. In 2005, Alonso won seven races and his teammate Giancarlo Fisichella won one race. We recently saw this livery race around the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi in a demo run. This livery has been placed on the Renault Megane Hatch R.S. Trophy-R (2020). This classic F1 livery has been revitalised by LeaseFetcher.
