Sergio Perez looks back briefly on his first Formula 1 victory and spoke to Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko shortly after the race. The Mexican seems to have been on Marko's radar for some time to possibly replace Alexander Albon at Red Bull.

Perez finally wins

"It is difficult to achieve that first victory and then realise what has just happened. When you work very hard for something and then finally get it, you feel like a better winner," Perez opens at the Ziggo Sport F1 cafe.

The Mexican driver says he finishes with a climax at Racing Point. "Yes, I'll finish with a highlight. My career with the team in my last weekend with them. After seven years with the team. It is not definite that I leave (F1)," the 30-year old driver continues.

Telephone conversation with Marko

Shortly after his victory, Perez received a phone call from Marko, but according to Perez it was only to congratulate him. "Marko only congratulated me. Congratulations and nothing more. We will see what happens after the weekend. I am determined to return to Formula 1 and there are already a number of options that are interesting," concluded Perez.
