Lewis Hamilton is working at an unprecedented level this season. In Bahrain he won for the fifth time in a row. However, he will be especially happy that his colleague Romain Grosjean was able to get out of the car unharmed after his crash today. The champion was visibly moved after the race.

"It was such a shocking picture to see. When I get in the car, I know I'm taking a risk. I respect the dangers in this sport. It's really chilling. I don't know how many G-forces were released, but I'm very grateful that the Halo did its job and that the crash barrier didn't cut his head off or anything like that."

Verstappen put Hamilton under pressure

Hamilton is pleased that the FIA has done a good job with the safety measures, which made it seemingly easy to win. Inside the car, it was a bit more difficult than it seemed.

"It was physically very tough. Because we had to wait so long, it is very easy to get out of the zone. It was a tough one and once we were on the road they [Red Bull Racing] had a lot of speed today. I had to go full throttle the whole time to keep them behind us," said Hamilton in the interview afterwards.
