Gasly: "Was actually quite a fun way to get to learn the circuit"

After the first two free practice sessions in Turkey, most drivers complained about the surface at Istanbul Park. According to Pierre Gasly, however it was not that bad. The Frenchman enjoyed learning the track as it was.

In front of the Formula 1 cameras, the AlphaTauri driver said: "It was actually a fun way to get to know the track. I also think the grip got a bit better in the afternoon hours. Especially with the soft tyres you noticed that."

While most of the drivers, were still complaining about the slippery track, Gasly didn't see the problem.

"We were a lot slower than expected, because in the simulations we were a lot faster."

The former Red Bull driver concluded: "We just have to perform our tasks well. The tyres play a crucial role here and the gaps between the drivers are therefore much bigger than normal. So it will be crucial to get the tyres working properly."
