Former Formula 1 driver Pedro de la Rosa foresees a golden future for Formula 1 in Spain. With the transfer of Carlos Sainz to Ferrari, de la Rosa believes that Formula 1 can revive in Spain, as it did when Fernando Alonso fought for victories and titles.

Dream transfer

"It's a dream come true. To have a Spanish driver in a big team is great, something we longed for, but it is also Ferrari. It is incredible", says de la Rosa about the dream transfer of Sainz against Marca.
"With Carlos it is true that he has always been undervalued. Sometimes you have the surname and sometimes you don't. Ferrari has not signed him because his name is Carlos Sainz, but because they know that he can be a great companion for Charles Leclerc. Young, disciplined and above all extremely fast", continues de la Rosa.

A little help from Verstappen

According to de la Rosa, Max Verstappen has also helped the transfer of Sainz to Ferrari: "When you analyse Sainz's F1 career, you realize why Ferrari chose him. He has driven against a very strong team mate before, starting with Verstappen. Sainz was very equal with Verstappen and often faster against others".
