Formula 1 has decided to keep the factories closed for another two weeks. Whereas the teams first had to close for 21 days, they now have to close for 35 days. However, according to Günther Steiner that is not enough.

''We have to close the factories much longer,'' Steiner said to Motorsport Magazine. ''You have to understand that we as teams simply don't have any income now as long as we don't race. Our sponsors really don't want to spend money if we don't go on the track, so we don't have the money to keep the factory running either''.

Steiner can't take away worries

According to Steiner, the factories will therefore have to close for longer than the 35 days currently prescribed. ''There will be light at the end of the tunnel only when the first race is known and we can start working towards that race. You would have to open the factories four to six weeks before the first race. Three would be enough, but after being closed for so long, you have to start up first," says Steiner.

Haas is said to be in a difficult situation. ''If we go to sponsors for money now, they look at us weird of course. So we have to survive now, but that's difficult if you don't know what your income will be. We have several scenarios ready and of course we are doing our very best'', Steiner can't take away the concerns around his team.
