Valtteri Bottas has already won an award in 2020. The F1 driver has been named as 'driver of the year 2019' at the Finnish National Automobile Sports Federation awards. The Mercedes driver recorded his best ever finish in the F1 world championship last season by coming second in the standings for the first time ever.
The prize is awarded annually by AKK-Motorsport, the Finnish National Motorsport Federation. "The year was demanding, but also motivating and rewarding," says Bottas at the ceremony after receiving the prize. "I am grateful to have become a Finnish driver of the year and it feels good to be able to celebrate this together with other Finnish drivers."
Bottas won four races durng the season and matched the number of pole positions acheived by title winner Lewis Hamilton. He also finished on the podium 15 times.
