Nick Heidfeld predicts Mercedes' Formula 1 dominance ends in 2020

Nick Heidfeld believes that Mercedes' dominance will come to an end next season as the German believes Ferrari will get things back on track. Ferrari have looked fast since the summer break and will hope to start the season in 2020 the way they have ended this one.  

"I think next year we will see a change of power and a replacement [Ferrari] at the top of the standings. As unlikely as it sounds, there will come a time when Mercedes' dominance will end," Heidfeld said in an interview with Sky Germany.

"The important thing for them [Ferrari] is that they have rhythm and learn from their mistakes. Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc are fighting for leadership status now."

The German also believes that Hamilton could be coming to the end of his career after a long and successful career. 

"I understand that at age 34, he [Hamilton] wants to occupy his life in other things. I think he will continue for just another season or so."

Fans will hope for a closer season next year and that Ferrari can start to challenge Mercedes.
