Sebastian Vettel describes sponsored trophies as "sh*t" and hates selfie stick guy

Sebastian Vettel is one of the oldest drivers on the grid and a more traditionalist view comes with that. The 32-year-old has ripped into the Mexican Grand Prix and F1 organisers for "sh*t" trophies and an annoying selfie stick guy. The German pushed the selfie stick guy away while they were on the podium together.

Liberty Media and Formula 1 are looking to create a party atmosphere in this current era. Along with that comes confetti and gimmicks like the selfie stick guy. The four-time world champion didn't enjoy the new additions. He also complains about the trophy he was handed for finishing in P2.

"I think it's a shame, you have such a great race and they've put so much effort into the race, and then you get these sh"t trophies that look boring," Vettel is quoted by ESPN

"I think we could have some for the future, maybe something nice, maybe a traditional Mexican, because I think it's a bit of a shame. I mean, there's Heineken written everywhere. You don't need to have the freakin' star on the trophy as well. So get something nice like they had when we used to race, when Formula One used to race here before we came back."

"I didn't like the selfie guy when he tried to push into the picture, so I pushed him away."

But Vettel admitted he didn't dislike all of the attempts the organisers are making to entertain the crowd.

"But I think it was nice to elevate the car as well. I think it's really cool. Obviously, it's a very nice way to do it, to involve the whole stadium and the crowd and the other things, so I liked most of it, except the selfie guy and the trophies," Vettel added.
