The Italian Grand Prix is set for rain when the racing gets underway at Monza later this afternoon. Friday's practice sessions were slightly affected by the weather but after a dry Saturday, the heavens are set to open.

The BBC are forecasting rain for the entire day with a 48% chance of rain when the lights go out at just after 3PM local time.

With the track set too be wet it will make for an interesting event and many will recall the chaotic scenes we saw in Germany at the last wet race. Max Verstappen won the race that day but it saw seven retirements and Daniil Kvyat finished on the podium for Toro Rosso.

Despite the rain, the sun is set to be present throughout the day and we should be in for a great day of racing at the Italian Grand Prix.
