Valtteri Bottas faces a huge season following a disappointing 2018 and with Esteban Ocon breathing down his neck he knows he needs to succeed.

Bottas has had to play second fiddle to Lewis Hamilton for the last two seasons, but he failed to win a single race last year.

The Finn has been under pressure from fans, his boss Toto Wolff and himself to succeed.

Speaking in Barcelona to the F1 website Bottas said: “I still feel that I haven’t achieved anything in Formula 1.

“So for myself, I still have a lot to achieve. I do want to meet my targets… [and] I’m willing to do, basically, whatever it takes to achieve those, and really just mentally prepared to go all in for the year.”

In the past, Bottas has been pushed to the side as the team focus on number one Lewis Hamilton who bids for a sixth world title but Bottas wants to work with the five-time world champion.

"[Lewis and I] realised that if we can work together inside of the team, in the meetings, it’s benefitting us as drivers.

"But we both know at the same time that when we put the helmet on when we’re in the car, we never want to be behind the other,” added Bottas.
