Rich Energy say Haas are "vastly superior" to rivals

Haas’ new title sponsor Rich Energy believe that the American team have more potential than rivals such as McLaren and Williams, which led them to sign an agreement with the team.

Haas unveiled their 2019 car on Thursday, featuring a smart looking gold and black design, moving away from the white, grey and red liveries they previously sported.

Romain Grosjean said that it reminded him of his old Lotus cars, and you can easily see the resemblance.

Before they invested in Haas, Rich Energy were talking to plenty of F1 teams, but in the end, it was quite easy to choose Haas.

William Storey, CEO of Rich Energy said: "By every metric they were vastly superior.

"They had the best business model in the sport, they were uniquely positioned to exploit regulation changes and I think they are run in a very, very unpretentious fashion.

"I think they are proper racers, Gene Haas is a wonderful businessman who is approaching motor racing in the right way, Gunther Steiner is a brilliant team principal and they have got two drivers with personality."

"But we just felt that when we analysed it in the cold light of day that Haas was head and shoulders above the rest in terms of a partnership for us."
