After McLaren unveiled a special livery for the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix to pay tribute to the late great Ayrton Senna, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris will do the same. The Austrian will race with a special tribute helmet with the famous colours that the Brazilian used to race with, gracing the streets of Monte Carlo for the iconic race weekend. The Brit will also race with a helmet to honour Senna, whilst both will also wear new overalls to match their livery.

Piastri "honoured" to pay tribute to the "master" of Monaco

Like Pierre Gasly last week at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Piastri will wear this newly-designed helmet for the weekend as a tribute to the three-time World Champion. The helmet will also be auctioned off and will raise money for the Ayrton Senna Institute, with Senna's charity work still continuing after his passing.

"It’s going to be an honour to race around the streets of Monaco in our special Senna livery," Piastri said. "He was a master of this track with six victories and it’s important to pay tribute to such a role model of our sport.

"I have also come up with a special helmet design and I’ll be auctioning off one of my helmets to raise funds for the Ayrton Senna Institute, which does such great work in providing opportunities and transforming lives. The past two race weekends in Miami and Imola have been amongst my strongest in F1 and it’s an exciting prospect to be heading to Monaco with good momentum."

Norris also pays tribute

Piastri's teammate Lando Norris also revealed the special helmet he will race in this weekend.

Both drivers will also wear overall's inspired by the livery the team will run this weekend.
