Lando Norris finally did what had been expected of him for years: win a Grand Prix. In Miami, the Briton won his first Grand Prix. The international media have dished out nothing but praise for the McLaren driver. "The favour factor is particularly high," one read, for example.

Gazzetta dello Sport

Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport could not ignore it: Norris had been quite lucky: "The safety car came at the best possible time for him. But it was needed to break the curse that had previously brought him to the podium 15 times without taking victory in the process. But he drove some fast laps on the old tyre, he defended and with that he legitimised all the luck he had." There was a critical note towards Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, for whom the newspaper said it must be "a strange feeling" not to win a race: "He should complain less. But he couldn't do anything about this," the Gazzetta stated.

Daily Mail

British newspaper the Daily Mail was euphoric after Lando Norris' win. For the first time since Brazil 2022(George Russell), there was another Briton on the top step of the podium. "Lando Norris reached new heights as he entered the Formula One history books with a first Grand Prix win at the Miami GP, beating reigning world champion Max Verstappen." The Daily Mail also saw some luck involved: "Red Bull endured a nightmare safety car restart that gave British ace Norris a chance to overtake Verstappen and race ahead, sparking wild celebrations amongst McLaren's ranks and the friends and supporters of the 24-year-old."

De Telegraaf

Lando Norris has now had two weekends in a row with big celebrations. While he was celebrating profusely during King's Day in Amsterdam, the McLaren driver recorded the biggest win of his career in Miami. "What celebrating King's Day in Amsterdam can do to a Formula One driver," concluded De Telegraaf. "Lando Norris won the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday. For the 24-year-old McLaren driver, it is his first win in the premier class of motorsport. Norris took full advantage of a safety car situation and was then also simply faster than the struggling Max Verstappen."

Het Laatste Nieuws

Also, a jubilation in the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws. After all, Lando Norris is half Belgian. Following his win in Miami. "By beating the authoritarian world champion in a weekend where the Dutchman seemed to dominate everything and everyone," writes the newspaper. "The joy at McLaren was great, Norris' if possible even greater. He shouted it out, was thrown in the air by his team and received congratulations from all corners. The favour factor is hugely high with the young Briton."
