Ferrari has undoubtedly had a reason to be happy the last few days. The Italian team won the last Grand Prix, held in Melbourne, Australia. In both championships, the drivers and the team sit near Max Verstappen and his Red Bull Racing, respectively. Every reason for satisfaction, then, although this does not mean that Frederic Vasseur and his people are sitting still because of the success.

In any case, with the Japanese Grand Prix just around the corner, the feeling at Ferrari is excellent: "We head for Japan buoyed by our one-two finish in Australia. That winning feeling only serves to make us work even harder to try and experience it again as soon as possible."

The Suzuka circuit has not been a place where Ferrari has managed to convince in recent years. Vasseur does not expect it to be easy in 2024 either: "The Suzuka track provides a particularly stern test for cars and drivers, which is why it is so popular with them. We believe we have a competitive package, but we know we need to do a perfect job to beat our rivals."

Possible rain could affect the Grand Prix

Rain is expected for the Grand Prix on Sunday, which could always mess up all pre-determined strategies. "As always in Japan, and this year in particular as it’s the first time we race at Suzuka in early Spring, the weather could play its part, but we have prepared for this possibility back in the factory and we are determined to be front runners.," said Vasseur.
