Max Verstappen had to retire at the Australian Grand Prix, but before that he was overtaken by Carlos Sainz, who later ended up winning the race. The RB20 ranks as the best car on the grid, yet Verstappen and Perez struggled a bit throughout the weekend. The verdict is as follows: Verstappen would have won the Australian Grand Prix had he finished the race.

Verstappen out of the race after only four laps

On the second lap of the Australian Grand Prix, Sainz overtook Verstappen, and the Dutchman's former teammate captured P1. Two laps later, Verstapepn's right-rear brake went up in flames, and he had to abandon the race. Partly due to Verstappen's failure, it became a little easier for Sainz to finish first in the race.

The Spaniard was still in hospital a fortnight ago after undergoing surgery due to appendicitis. The Ferrari driver himself was very happy after the victory and reacted emotionally. Would Verstappen have won had he not crashed out? Vote in the poll below and let your opinion be known in the comments.
