Hadjar takes revenge and also wins the feature race in Australia

24 March - 01:47

Isack Hadjar has responded to his lost sprint victory in the best possible way. The Frenchman lost the sprint victory after a time penalty, but took the feature race. Paul Aron and Zane Maloney are next to him on the podium, with Andrea Kimi Antonelli on P4 just off his first F2 podium.

Dennis Hauger got away well from pole position and maintained his leading position into the first corner. Andrea Kimi Antonelli got away slightly less well from P2, but also retained his position. In the background, things went wrong in turn three, where Zak O'Sullivan touchdd Saturday's winner Roman Stanek who went into the gravel.

In the first few laps, Antonelli put the attack on Hauger's leading position. Antonelli took the lead at the corner where he spun on Saturday, but in the DRS zone Hauger took the lead back just a lap later. The two remain close after that.

Most drivers started on the softest tyre and it did not last long. After a few laps, several drivers started to struggle, causing moments from Zane Maloney and Victor Martin.

Huge crash by Dennis Hauger

There is then the first virtual safety car after contact between Joshua Durksen and O'Sullivan. Durksen ended up stuck in the gravel and couldn't continue his way. After the VSC, the drivers on the soft tyre went in for the medium tyre.

On the new tyre, however, things go completely wrong for leader Hauger. On cold tyres, the Norwegian lost control of his car in turn six and triggered a safety car. Isack Hadjar pitted during the VSC, just before the safety car came out. With that, Hadjar took the virtual lead, at the expense of Antonelli.

At the restart at the back after the safety car, the field is somewhat shaken. At the front are the drivers who started on the medium tyre and have yet to go in. Hadjar holds the virtual lead, with Antonelli in virtual second place. However, the Italian struggles to overtake and loses ground on Hadjar. Paul Aron and Zane Maloney take advantage of the lingering Antonelli and take the virtual podium spots.
