Huge news with implications for F1 and F2. Carlos Sainz has been diagnosed with appendicitis and will require surgery. He will be replaced by reserve driver Oliver Bearman. Oli had taken pole for the feature race last night.

The task ahead of Bearman is huge. His F2 pole lap yesterday was a 1:42.2. Checo’s F1 pole here last year was 1:28.2. So while he may know the track, it’ll suddenly be coming at him 14 seconds faster over the 6km lap. Massive challenge. It’s gonna feel like a rocket ship.
