Norris looks forward to Jeddah: 'Circuit suits us better than Bahrain'

3 March - 12:45

Lando Norris hopes to get his first win this season then, finally. Plus point for the driver, they did not crash out in the first race. Minus point, the first step on the podium is still far, far away. Speaking to GPBlog and others, Norris talks about how he will work towards the race in Jeddah.

"It's a circuit with more high speeds, which usually suits us," Norris said after finishing sixth in Bahrain. He continued: "It's also a circuit where you want to have a good front end at the apex. And that's something we don't have at all, so there will still be things we'll struggle with a lot when the circuit has a higher track speed on average, which maybe should suit us a bit more." Nevertheless, the Briton is looking forward to the race in Saudi Arabia: "Yes, I'm looking forward to it. There are plenty of things to learn, because it's still a different car from last year. More challenges, more question marks, but overall I hope it will suit us better."

Ferrari too far away, keeping up with Mercedes

With sixth place, the British driver managed to finish his car between the two Mercedes cars, with Oscar Piastri then again behind a Mercedes in eighth place. Something the 24-year-old is very happy about: "I mean for our pace to still be very similar to Mercedes is a good thing. At times I thought we could challenge the Ferrari but Carlos [Sainz], I think, showed what the Ferrari's potential was today. Yes, like we were close to Mercedes, I don't think we had any advantage over them. Pace was so similar that as soon as I got into the dirty air, I just couldn't have enough of an advantage to get to have a chance to overtake or even get within DRS."
