Wolff and Brown critical of 'non-transparent' investigation into Horner

The investigation into Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner has concluded. The Brit was found not guilty of inappropriate behaviour towards an employee of the Austrian team. Still, not everyone is completely satisfied with the statement from Red Bull GmbH.

There has been a lot of speculation in recent weeks. A lot of gossip and rumours went around about the Red Bull team boss. On Wednesday, just before the first race weekend of the season in Bahrain, Red Bull (the company in Austria themselves, not the race team) came out with a press release. It stated that Horner had been found not guilty of inappropriate behaviour and that he will continue to work for the Austrian racing team.

This response to the investigation does not satisfy everyone. Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff says: "I just read the statement, which was pretty basic, I would say. My personal opinion is we can't really look behind the curtain. Yesterday, the sport has received the message it's all fine. We've looked at it. I believe that, with the aspiration as a global sport on such critical topics, it needs more transparency. I wonder what the sport's position is."

Wolff is not the only team boss in Formula 1 where there is ambiguity over the investigation. McLaren team boss Zak Brown says: "There are a lot of unanswered questions about the whole process. I think that's what's needed by those who run the sport to really be able to draw a line under it. Until then, I think there'll continue to be some level of speculation by people, and I don't think that's healthy for the sport."
