Haas F1 will hold a first shakedown of the VF-24 on 11 February at the Silverstone circuit. This will be the first time the world sees the new car, although it cannot be ruled out that Haas will show their car's livery via social media before then.

Two days before the official test in Bahrain, Haas will hold a second shakedown, also in Bahrain. Judging from what the team has heard from the VF-24 on the test bench and in the simulator, the car is no gem. "The ’24 car is a clear step,” stated the new team boss, Ayao Komatsu, in an interview with the media. "But whether it is good enough against the competition to start off with? I don’t believe so because we started so late."

Haas F1 started preparations very late

According to Komatsu, Haas F1 has upended the car concept after the major update proved a failure last season in Austin. Incidentally, the Japanese team boss - successor to Guenther Steiner - adds that he is realistic, but not in a negative way. Moreover, he does not blame his designers and engineers that the car may again not be as fast as secretly hoped. Komatsu stresses that Haas F1 are simply a modest team.

Haas finished last season in last place in the constructors' championship. The Americans will continue with Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg as drivers for 2024.
