Latest on Hamilton's F1 film: No issues with sponsors

Lewis Hamilton is busy with a film in addition to his work as a Formula 1 driver. However, the film production, which stars Brad Pitt, has been adapting its schedule before and during the SAG strike and has planned to shoot into 2024 for some time. As a result, filming cannot take place in Las Vegas, Lewis Hamilton said.

All footage captured during the 2023 season remains relevant, with all movie sponsors committed for the duration of the project. They will continue to shoot at Grands Prix in 2024, with the actors driving on the tracks again. An F1 spokeperson also told GPblog that the movie is still on schedule for its original 2025 release timeframe.

Hamilton is working on a new F1 film, for which several images were already shot during the 2023 F1 season during Grand Prix weekends. However, with the strikes in Hollywood, the film has stalled, so Hamilton will use the winter break to pick everything up again now that the strikes seem to be over. 

Strikes hamper Hamilton

Speaking ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix Hamilton said: "In December, I'll probably spend a day or so with Joe and Jerry just going over the script and obviously now we can continue on with the writers and now Brad and Damson will be back in training getting ready to get back in the car".

"Unfortunately, we were supposed to be filming this weekend… If there wasn't a strike we would be filming one of the really cool scenes here this weekend. But we'll continue on filming next year so you'll see them around more. We've already got great footage with the demo drivers who have done a great job as all the drivers got to see in Austin. And yeah, we'll keep pushing along. It's still going to be great, might cost a little bit more but I'm really confident in what Jerry is going to produce," Hamilton added.
