This weekend, the Japanese Grand Prix is scheduled at the iconic Suzuka Circuit. Alexander Albon was close to his third consecutive points finish for Williams in Singapore, but ended up 11th due to an incident with Sergio Perez. According to the British-Thai, the circuit in Japan should suit the FW45 well.

Albon: 'Suzuka should be better than Singapore'

Expectations were not very high at Williams ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix. The Williams car is known as a car with low drag but also somewhat low downforce. As a result, the British team's car often has a very high top speed, but there is little you can do with that on the streets of Singapore. Despite this, Albon was driving in the points in the closing stages of the race until Perez tried to overtake him, resulting in a crash. For this, the Mexican was penalised.

The British-Thai expects his team to fare better in Japan: "I love coming to Japan; Sukuza is one of my favourite tracks of the year and I love the food and culture of Japan, so it’s always a good time. Suzuka should be a good track for us and will be better suited for our car compared to previous tracks like Singapore. Hopefully we can do a good job and have a good weekend."

Sargeant at Suzuka Circuit for the first time

Formula 2 and 3 do not race at the Suzuka Circuit and so F1 rookie Logan Sargeant will make his debut at the historic circuit this weekend. "I’m really looking forward to this weekend with it being my first time racing in Suzuka. It’s an iconic track that I can't wait to drive. It should hopefully be a better weekend for us that I’m excited to get into," said the Williams driver ahead of the race weekend.
