Verstappen disagrees with 'boring F1' criticism: 'Max must keep performing'

Not all Formula 1 viewers are happy with the current state of the sport. They think F1 has become boring due to the dominance of Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing. However, Jos Verstappen stresses that Max cannot just slow down to keep things exciting for viewers.

F1 boring because of Verstappen's dominance?

Some people think F1 has become "boring" because of the dominance of Verstappen and Red Bull, but father Jos stresses that the two-time world champion cannot just slow down to make it more interesting. "He can't slack off. He cannot just put a little less energy into it," Verstappen said to Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport. "He has to keep performing 100 per cent at his ability."

Verstappen sr. also feels that it is a bit too easily thought by some that the car has the biggest share in his son's current success. "I think it's all a little bit bull****. Max adapts very well to the new things coming, and if that is more to his liking than Perez's, that's just the way it is," he continued.

"To make that car faster, you just need a good front end. If you generally look at the good drivers, they all need a good front end. And they go fast. I think Max is one of them," Jos Verstappen said.
