This weekend the Italian Grand Prix is on the programme. The Monza circuit is mainly about top speed, something that should suit Red Bull Racing well. Max Verstappen hopes to win in Italy as he did last year, which would see the Dutchman break Sebastian Vettel' s victory record.

Verstappen: 'Top speed important, but also the tyres'

Monza is also known as the 'Temple of Speed' because of its enormously long and many straights. "II’m looking forward to returning to Italy to see all the passionate Italian fans. There’s a lot of motorsport history in the country so it’s always good to race there. Monza is a fast circuit, you achieve very high top speeds, so it’s very different to Zandvoort where we just raced, it’ll be interesting to see how we perform there. It will be very important this weekend to generate as much top speed as possible, while looking after the tyres," Verstappen said ahead of the weekend.

Verstappen wants to take over record Vettel

The Dutchman won his ninth race in a row at Zandvoort, equalling the record of four-time world champion Vettel. This weekend, Verstappen has the chance to break the record. "The weather forecast so far looks dry and it’d be good to have a weekend without rain for a change! Coming off nine wins in a row, I hope I can continue the streak, but we’ll find out," the two-time world champion concluded.
