Horner fears no slackening from success: 'Plenty to focus on'

Red Bull Racing had a perfect first half of the season, mainly thanks to Max Verstappen. With 10 Grands Prix to go, it is already clear that the Dutchman will capture his third world title in a row, along with his team also looking set to take the constructors' title. Yet things are certainly not relaxed behind the scenes, Christian Horner believes.

The Red Bull Racing team boss says there is certainly plenty of work to do: "Well, the challenges are always different because when you're the hunter, you've got everybody focused on the target, you know, ahead of you. When you suddenly become the hunted, it's a different type of pressure, and, of course, we have numerous approaches from all these guys obviously chasing all our staff, sponsors, you name it, and it's just a different pressure," Horner tells GPblog and others.

Horner then goes on to say that the cliché really is true: "I think, you know, getting there is one thing, staying there is another, but I think that the spirit, the culture that we have within the team is something that we've got great strength and depth and have enjoyed great continuity over a long period of time, which again is so important in this business."

Staff Red Bull won't let their heads get in the way

Keeping that huge focus day in and day out seems difficult. However, Horner thinks otherwise: "I think we're very much taking one race at a time, one session at a time, and I think you have to focus like that. Nobody's allowing their minds to drift, and I think it's a long, long championship, and I think that there's a lot going on behind the scenes with Red Bull Powertrains as that's gearing up as well in the background in Milton Keynes with 2026 not being all that far away now. So, there is plenty to keep people focused on."
