It is a special season for the Aston Martin team. Not only have they found a driver with the recruitment of Fernando Alonso who, combined with the new car, can take the team to the podium. The team has also opened a new campus, where the first team members moved in at the end of May. Dan Fallows, technical director of the Silverstone-based team, states that the first weeks on campus have been fantastic.

We have seen that Lawrence Stroll is ambitious before, and this year, for the first time, those ambitions are really coming out on track: the team is third in the constructors' championship, behind Red Bull and Mercedes. Alonso currently even in third place in the drivers' championship, just nine points behind Sergio Perez.

So now a new, modern campus has also been opened. Fallows tells Formula1.com why the campus is effective: "We were working out of a combination of an old building and some portacabins and so on. To have everybody, particularly the design office, in the same room, is a massive step forward for us."

Not everything on campus is completed yet, but Fallows is blazing with enthusiasm: "The technical offices are now occupied, we moved in a couple of weeks ago, and it’s been fantastic. We’re in the process of finalising the hand-over, the building, and then there’s another load of building work to go on, but it’s an incredibly exciting time for the team."
