Nico Hulkenberg is one of the successful German athletes living in Monaco. Together with footballer, AS Monaco striker, Kevin Volland, he set up an exclusive Whatsapp group. The big missing name? Nico Rosberg.

Successful Germans seek each other out in Monaco

There is an exclusive Whatsapp group made up of successful Germans living in Monaco. As a matter, the Whatsapp group has also become a club of friends. F1 driver at Haas, Hulkenberg, together with Volland, tells Bild about the origins of the group.

Volland begins, "We met on a plane in 2021. Nico was one row behind me on a flight to Munich. I don't know why, but I liked Nico and wanted to see him more often." Hulkenberg adds: "It was soon clear that we had to connect all the Germans who lived here." In his "early retirement" from F1, Hulkenberg had time to get the group together.

Thus the group of (mostly) well-known sportsmen and other Germans was formed. The group includes footballers Alexander Nübel, Ismail Jakobs and tennis player Alexander Zverev. There are also other non-public figures in the group. Hulkenberg says the group enjoys hanging out together: "Sometimes we see each other on the beach, or we go for lunch at the harbour. We have also been to Cannes together."

Rosberg still missing

The group is mainly an important environment for Hulkenberg to talk to other people and sportsmen or women so he can share his life. The biggest missing name in the group is former F1 champion Rosberg. Finally, Hulkenberg says: "He hasn't sent us an application letter yet. But he may do so at any time. CV and a nice photo is enough."
