Vasseur confirms: 'Ferrari contracts top engineer for '25 car'

Mattia Binotto fulfilled a dual role at Ferrari until the end of last year. He was not only the team boss, but also ultimately responsible at the technical level. Vasseur confessed to Autosprint that he recently contacted a "top engineer" who will join Ferrari. One small detail: it will be some time before the man or woman can start work at his new employer. "He will work on the car only in 2025 and for 2026. It sounds like a long wait, but if you don't act, it could be even worse in six months. You must accept these conditions as the basis of F1. If at a certain point you stop, it will mean further postponing the effects," Vasseur said.

Who the new technical boss is, that is still unknown. Given that the newcomer cannot start until '25, it suggests that the mysterious man or woman is currently employed by another F1 team.
