For most drivers, coming out for Ferrari is the ultimate dream: the scarlet red, the adoration of the Tifosi, the history of the team. At the same time, no F1 team can be found where the pressure is so immense. If things don't work out - and in recent years they have more often than not - the pressure from media and fans is immense.

It is precisely at times like these that it is important to stand firm as a driver. Charles Leclerc knows all about it. The Monegasque, now in his fifth year with the Maranello-based team, has had a difficult season, with only one podium to celebrate. During a sponsor's meeting, Leclerc discussed what all that entails in terms of pressure.

Many disappointed

The Gazetta dello Sport noted his story: "Pressure? I experience a lot of pressure. Especially since I have been in this team. It [driving for Ferrari] requires a lot of passion and responsibility. Even with the smallest mistake, many people are disappointed. But I have always dreamed of being in F1 and driving for Ferrari. So I understand the responsibilities."

For all drivers who one day dream of a Ferrari cockpit, Leclerc says: "This is what we have to be prepared for. In our sport, pressure is normal: you fight and compete, even when things don't go as you would expect."

Ferrari is not taking any updates for Monaco. In Barcelona, however, the car will get an overhaul. By doing so, the team hopes to narrow the gap to the top - in this case Red Bull Racing.
