Sergio Pérez has started well in 2023. At the Baku Grand Prix last Sunday, he took his second victory, where he also managed to win the sprint race on Saturday. Now Max Verstappen's teammate is keen to continue this streak at the Miami Grand Prix.

After four races, Pérez is second in the championship, six points behind his Dutch teammate. This weekend, the Mexican took no less than 33 points, whereas Verstappen dropped some points in both the sprint race and the main race. However, the Red Bull Racing team need not worry about the constructors' championship for now, with the gap between second place Aston Martin already at 93 points.

Pérez tells his team's press release that he is very happy with how his weekend went: "I felt super confident in the car last weekend, and we executed two perfect races. Everything came together. I always said at the start of this season, we needed consistent weekends, and Baku was just that."

Can Pérez continue the streak?

Now it is on or over, and at this week's race weekend in Miami, the Mexican can show whether he is really capable of challenging Verstappen for the championship. The six-time Grand Prix winner is confident about the race weekend: "I am looking forward to Miami. Hopefully, we can continue on our good form from Baku and be really competitive. Physically Miami is the most demanding race of the season, so I have been working hard to be ready for it."
