Even though Charles Leclerc is taking the F1 by storm in his rookie season, the Monegasque still remains hard on himself, saying he doesn't see the positive side of anything he does.

Despite his stellar performances this season, which included five points finishes and three Q3 appearances in his Sauber, Leclerc stays grounded.

"I find it very hard to see something positive in what I do," he told Motorsport-Magazin.

"I'm always very critical of himself and often I only see the negative side of things.

"When I have a good result, than it's because of the team.

"When it's a bad result, it's my own fault."

Safe to say that Leclerc demands a lot from himself then. He must be very thankful to his team as well, even though his teammate Marcus Ericsson doesn't even nearly have as many points as Leclerc. It's obviously not the team that make him go as fast as he does, but himself.

When asked if his mentality will be successful when he will be taking on the likes of Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton in the future, Leclerc doesn't know yet.

"I don't know and that's still a long way down the line.

"But I think this is the right approach for me.

"I've always been like this, and maybe that's the reason for my fast growth."
