Marko brings wisdom to juniors: 'My father brought me up that way too'

Helmut Marko is loved not only in Formula 1, but also in the classes below it. Two Red Bull juniors tell why they are so enthusiastic about this 79-year-old Red Bull adviser.

Zane Maloney and Enzo Fittipaldi are two relatively new Red Bull members. This season they are teammates at Carlin in Formula 2 and in separate interviews with Mirror Sport they were both only positive about their first impressions of working with Marko.

"He's tough, but I like that," said Maloney, who is in his debut season in F2. "I think that's the best way to go about it, in life in general. My dad was like that when I was growing up. You work hard and you get done what you need to get done," said the Red Bull-based talent.

Fellow talent Fittipaldi agreed wholeheartedly. "He's very straightforward and just honest – and I like that. He just tells me what it is [he wants] and you know where you stand. I like the conversations and meetings I had with him last year," said the 21-year-old Brazilian.
