New Alfa Romeo car already available in official F1 game

Alfa Romeo is going to give fans the chance to drive the new 2023 car in advance. In collaboration with EA Sports, Alfa Romeo has added the new C43 to the F1 2022 video game.

The car is only available in Time Trial mode in the video game. This makes the C43 the first - and for now the only - 2023 car available in the game. Players can use the car straight away, even before the official testing days for the upcoming season begin.

The real car will be in action for the first time this week. At the official test days on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou will take the car onto the track in Bahrain.

'We have a lot more in store'

"Fans mean everything to us," team representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi responded in a press release. "To give them the chance to drive our new Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake C43 before they even see it on track in real life is something that was never done before in the official F1 video games. We’re proud to be at the leading edge of this pioneering approach, but this is not the whole story: we have a lot more in store, planned for the season, and we can’t wait to show you."

EA Sports' John Merchant added: "Pre-season testing is a highly anticipated moment in the Formula One calendar and the first opportunity for fans to see how the new cars perform on the grid. We’re delighted to become part of the 2023 re-start by giving our players the opportunity to be the first to race and test the C43."
