Whilst it is not yet clear what Adrian Newey 's plans are now that he has confirmed he is leaving Red Bull Racing, Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren, shared on the F1 Podcast: Beyond the Grid that he could go either way.

Newey can go either way

Adrian Newey is currently the most coveted designer in Formula 1. Yet Zak Brown is not necessarily eager to include Newey in his team. "He’s obviously the most successful designer of all time." Brown says on the F1: Beyond the Grid podcast. "I’m very happy with the team that we have, and it’s fascinating that he’s left."

Asked about Newey's possible next move, Brown indicated that it could go either way. Nevertheless, Brown is confident that Newey will remain active in motorsport. "I think he’ll continue in F1. I mean, he loves the sport. I think he’s definitely not done," Brown said.

A move to another class is always a possibility for Newey, according to Brown. "A lot of people might not know he was at IndyCar. That’s where his relationship with Bobby Rahal, when he was running Jaguar, came from. So I think he likes IndyCar. So what I can comfortably say is he’s not done with motorsports. Where he pops up, who knows?”
