Giancarlo Fisichella expects Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to have all the qualities needed to win the world championship. He tells this in conversation with La Gazetta dello Sport. To do so, however, the drivers will depend on a well-performing car.

The former Formula 1 driver, who featured in the motorsport class between 1996 and 2009, has been impressed by Ferrari's team. Indeed, according to the now 50-year-old Italian, Leclerc and Sainz show that they are willing to go through fire for each other.

Fisichella therefore thinks the Monegasque and Spaniard are an excellent duo. "The strongest or among the strongest. Both have the qualities to become world champions," Fisichella is convinced, although they will have to manage to keep Mercedes and Red Bull Racing behind them.

The former driver is by no means sorry that he cannot be found in Formula 1 at this time. Indeed, Fisichella believes that not nearly everything in the motorsport class today is better than during his era.

"The unparalleled sound of the V8 or V10 engines. I wouldn't trade it for today's cars, although the races are beautiful and spectacular, with interesting new features like the Sprint Races. Domenicali is doing a great job."
