Ocon: "Best of the rest fight to go down to the wire"

Force India driver Esteban Ocon insists the 'best of the rest' fight will continue for the remainder of the season. The Silverstone-based team have held fourth place in the constructors' championship for the past couple of seasons.

This year they face much stronger competition, and that competition already has a head start on them. Renault have a 20 point advantage in fourth. A gap which was cut dramatically after the Austrian Grand Prix.

The pink panthers came fighting back scoring 14 points on Sunday which was their first double points finish of the season. Their 200th milestone race will be a memorable one.

"The gap in the middle championship in the constructors' table is close. The fight is on, and it will last all season," Ocon told Formula 1's website.

"I mean those guys [Haas] were quick today. We'll get them another time. I was quite happy for the team."

Heading into the British Grand Prix, it's clear the French man has bags of confidence. His team-mate, Sergio Perez wasn't far short of it either.

"It feels good. It's a massive result for the team. We outscored Renault so definitely a good day," added Perez.

Force India underperformed even by their usual standards in qualifying and practice. Perez himself failed to make it out of Q1 as a struggling Williams beat him.

But the never say die attitude lived on to give them the result on Sunday.

"We never give up. We had a bad [day] but the next day is always a new chance - we didn't give up and try our best to move forward. It worked really well," Perez added.
