Qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix did not go smoothly for Max Verstappen. The Dutchman made a mistake on his fast lap and locked his wheels. In the end, Verstappen was still satisfied with second position. Overtaking poleman Kevin Magnussen will not be a big problem.

Despite missing out on pole position at Interlagos, the Dutchman was happy with his P2 afterwards. It was slippery on the track due to the wet weather conditions. Verstappen ended up on a wet stretch and blocked his wheels. In the end, he only had to leave Kevin Magnussen in front.

"I was happy all along that I was still second. Of course I was angry with myself at first for blocking there, but when I saw that [Magnussen on pole], it was actually fine," the Red Bull Racing driver told Viaplay. Verstappen is happy for the Haas team.

Verstappen expects to catch up with Magnussen

"You've obviously been driving in Formula 1 for a while and you've never had the chance to fight for pole. It's nice for the whole team [Haas]." Verstappen will do his best to overtake Magnussen at the start, but should he not succeed, he will later in the race. "You try at the start, but if that doesn't work, we will overtake them during the race."
