Different schedule for Brazil Grand Prix due to Sprint race

The Brazilian Grand Prix is just around the corner and for the third and last time this season, a sprint race will be held during an F1 race weekend. That also means a slightly different schedule. Find out here what time and where to turn on for the sessions next weekend.

After a week off, Formula 1 teams and drivers are gearing up for another Grand Prix weekend this week. The season is almost over. There are only two races left in Brazil and Abu Dhabi, before the entire paddock can enjoy a well-deserved winter break. The stakes, however, are still high.

Sprint race in Brazil

For instance, Ferrari and Mercedes are still fighting for second place among constructors, and with more points to share through the sprint race at the Interlagos circuit, Mercedes will be keen to make a big impact here. A similar duel between Alpine and McLaren is for spot four, Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo fighting for spot six and AlphaTauri and Haas battling for eighth place.

Three race weekends with a Sprint were scheduled this year, two of which have already taken place. In Imola and Austria, Max Verstappen won the Sprint. In Italy, that also eventually earned Verstappen victory in the main race, in Spielberg the Red Bull driver lost out to Charles Leclerc.

A sprint race means qualifying on Friday after just one free practice session. Due to the four-hour time difference, the sessions are in the evening hours for European viewers. Thus qualifying on Friday is at 19:00 UK time and the Sprint starts at 19:30. The race is just a bit earlier on Sunday. That starts at 18:00 UK time.
