Will we see an all-women feeder series in the near future?

F1 are reportedly looking at creating an all-women feeder series by 2023 to help lead female drivers into F3 and F2, however, this will have no link to the W-Series which was cancelled earlier this season.

Sources told ESPN that the potential series would be aimed at teenagers hoping to enter the lower series to help fulfil dreams of racing in the premier of motorsport.

The hoped series would act as an easier feeder up the clear F3-F2-F1 pyramid and is hoping to include 15 drivers in its first season.

The series itself is aiming for the promotion of drivers through the pyramid and would most likely include teams which are a part of the two series already.

F1 has only seen five female drivers in its history, with the last being Lella Lombardi in 1976, but with the recent success of British driver Jamie Chadwick in the aforementioned W-Series, many are hoping a return of a female driver could be possible.

The only current female driver in either of the feeder series is Tatiana Calderon. The Columbian is driving for Charouz Racing System and made her season debut at Spa earlier this year.
