Mika Häkkinen has congratulated Max Verstappen on his second world title. In an analysis at Unibet Häkkinen called it a brilliant race to end a dominant season.

With his second title in his pocket, Verstappen is now on par with Häkkinen, who won the championship with McLaren in 1998 and 1999. The former Finnish driver had nothing but praise for the Dutchman in his analysis of the race at Suzuka.

"His start was great. Max used all his experience to take control and put Charles behind him. From then on, he drove in a class of his own. That he won by 27 seconds in such a short race was simply brilliant. His twelfth race win this season does show how much he deserved to win this season - he completely dominated."

Congratulations to Newey

Häkkinen also took a moment to spotlight Adrian Newey. Newey played a crucial role in the development of both last year's and this year's Red Bull cars. He previously worked at McLaren, where he developed the cars that helped Häkkinen win his titles.

"He really is the most successful designer in F1 history. His technical leadership is brilliant. Even during Mercedes' dominant years, Red Bull remained competitive, and it's great to see that Adrian's team has managed to make such good use of the new rules this year to win the title again. Congratulations to him!"
