'Verstappen is where he needs to be now, he is complete'

Mario Andretti is by no means surprised that Max Verstappen easily took his second world title of his career this season. Indeed, according to the simple Formula 1 world champion, the Dutchman is the prime example of how to approach a season in the motorsport class.

Whereas last season Verstappen still had the necessary tension before races, a year later Verstappen was actually very relaxed. The driver no longer felt the pressure of becoming world champion, which helped his performance on the various circuits.

"There is nothing better than being able to repeat a Championship especially after what went on at the end of last year," Andretti told Sky Sports. "It's deserving as you can see. Dominating so far this season and he will probably dominate the rest of the way. A perfect example of what a world champion should be."

Red Bull experiences almost flawless season

Although things did not go well for Red Bull Racing and Verstappen once in Singapore, they both showed in the remaining races that they have taken the next step. With Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, for instance, Ferrari made strategic errors on several occasions, while the Austrian formation could hardly be caught out on this.

"Max is where he needs to be right now, he's complete. His race craft is superb, a lot of credit to the team. A lot of credit to the team, strategies are always right on. When you have that going for you, that's it. He's a tough one to beat and it seems like he is there for the foreseeable future for sure."
