Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko's patience with Max Verstappen was clearly wearing thin after the Dutchman when he crashed his car in FP3 in Monaco, but Marko does realize that Verstappen is still a huge talent.
It's been a frustrating season for Verstappen, who has been in many crashes and collisions already and is costing his team too many points because of it. Marko thinks that the criticism is justified, but also knows that Verstappen is way better than what he's showing.
"The criticism Max is getting is partly justified," Marko told the press.
"In China and Monte Carlo his mistakes were stupid, but that doesn't change his talent and his speed.
"We can only try to do as much as we can do outside of the public eye and drive on.

"Because we really need results now."
It's certainly true that Verstappen has dropped a lot of points because of his crashes or his errors during the races. Auto Motor und Sport even made a hypothetical of what the championship would look like if Verstappen didn't make any of his mistakes. Let's just hope he turns things around in Canada!
