Renault will have to wait even longer for Red Bull to make their decision on who their engine partner will be in 2019, as the Bulls have decided to take another month to weigh their options.

Renault boss Cyril Abiteboul is annoyed by this, as his original deadline was several weeks ago already.

“I do not understand their evasive behaviour,” he said to ThisIsF1.

“They want to wait until Canada, but on Monday after the race in Montreal there will be no revelations.”

Indeed, as Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has announced that it won't be for another month.

End of June, beginning of July," Horner said.

"It’s the timeframe we’ve always talked about.

“We want to compare the two engines in Canada," Horner referred to both Renault and Honda, who reportedly both will bring some upgrades to their cars in Montréal.

"We’ll get small updates in Montreal but we need to get the most out of them.

"It’s very important to us.”

Abiteboul does want to stay with Red Bull, but there are some conditions.

“We would like to continue with Red Bull if they give us a three-year warranty,” the Frenchman said.

“Then we could have planning security, invest more and justify more resources.”
