Max Verstappen is heading for a second world title this season. The Dutchman is 109 points ahead of rival Charles Leclerc and therefore has the opportunity to drop stitches in the coming race weekends. Christian Horner is proud of his driver.

Since Verstappen's switch to Red Bull Racing in 2016, Horner has invested a lot of time and energy in the driver. This has paid off, as last season Verstappen managed to fight with Lewis Hamilton for the world title and eventually managed to take it.

Horner has good relationship with Verstappen

Over the years the British team boss developed an excellent relationship with the reigning world champion, he told the NOS. Speaking to the Dutch medium, Horner reveals that he also has a lot of respect for Verstappen.

"Max can talk to me about anything. If something is bothering him if something is on his mind. I know he feels he can always come to me," he said. "Whatever it's about, big or small problems. That openness and honesty matters."

"Put him in a car and you get 110 per cent commitment. But he also expects 110 per cent in return. He sets the bar high, but at the same time he is easy to work with," said Horner, who saw Verstappen drive to victory in the Dutch Grand Prix last weekend.
